Horizon of Hope

Horizon of Hope

There are slices of truth

Wars waged upon views pointed in opposite directions

I cannot be partial

But I bend when the wind that shelters me

From some purpose greater than mere thought

When it was simple

I raised my hand when I was called upon

I knew the answer

Nothing apart from me knew better

I have no teacher but yesterday’s voice echoing

I knew what it meant

But I believed in something better

So I faced my sail to the importunate cross-winds

And I caught what was left

To free me from the stagnant billows

My heart set free in possibilities

My eyes raised upon the horizon of hope
