There After

There After

I wish at time there was this thing we could call a trade

When we could see each other, through a different prism

I am not trying to write your book

I just want a part in it

Sometimes I feel my lines, I have spoken too soon

Like you are not ready for what they really mean

But I let go of them

So you’d see just where I am

There’s a calm that comes through receiving

And a burden that comes from a process that churns the other way

Everything doesn’t have to make sense right now

I am not after some perfect evolution

When all that is near is silence between our words

That is when understanding measures its worth

Into a world needing what we hunger for

And find solace in

Poise and the truth there after
