Someone Else's War

How can you say,

Its worth all of that?

There’s nothing left to do,

But join the army?

I see into your children’s eyes:

Into magical prisms of deep blue

How long do you plan on seeing them?

Have you thought this out,

Is this your only option?

I get it

Security, income

The fight for freedom

Yes, and someone else’s war

Is this admirable?

An ideal perfected, protected?

Brave is two shades away from being mislead

Tell me you have thought this one out some more?

When will you see your children’s eyes?

When the bills are paid?

When the battle has stopped,

And the next one proliferates on someone else’s watch?
