The Thief of Time

There is this holding pattern

That chews up my mind

That burrows peace

And chews up time

I cannot see its need

It just keeps on spinning

In lock-step, I'm grounded

In gut-check, responded

Is home where I am leaving from

Or the place, will I ever arrive?

Patience-What is your appraisal?

In debt am I

To this thief of time

What have I bought into?

The better of fate awaits:

Squealing on the inside

No, those were the brakes?
