Embers and Tides

Embers and Tides

From where we are,

What is easier:

To burn the ships,

Or to weave the sails?

To lay the cornerstone

Where the grass will surely get greener,

Or to leave behind

What we exhausted our hopes to find?

I look in your eyes

And see the same dilemma

It hasn’t been solved in mine either

There are choices

That scrimmage into exhaustion

There are riddles that choose different fortunes

As much as I know:

Intention will save the day

Purpose will guide the way

What lies unseen serves to ask bigger questions

To lay our pride down unto all we have to offer

Silence and time

Embers and tides

They will give us our answers
