What You'd Hear Today

What You’d Hear Today

My function is lost along parallel lines

Trust is a must

When I cannot complain

It cost me nothing but time

Its was yours, then it was everyone else’s

But now it is gone

When it went by, there were only words

That meant so much more

If I could pretend I did not own them

If I could extend

And then you’d notice

All that attracts through a limitless plane

I knew once why you were listening

And I left you still amazed

But here goes my last try

If it didn’t matter, then why?

Coursing through all that remains

My luck, well that’s tough

I suppose there is another day

Every time I sit here long enough

The bells ring

But they are always off a little too early

And I just don’t know why

I am left so defenseless

Like I need more time

All that surrounds me is space

And given enough room

I just want more than a taste

What everyone deserves

If they had the heart to say

Let those be your words

That you’d hear today
